Could irregular period be connected to an Ectopic Pregnancy?

As long as I had my spell it was completely irregular. Sometimes I would walk up to 5 months without one and other times hold 2 in a month. Last year I get pregnant for the first (and only) time and ended up have an Ectopic pregnancy and needed half of a tube removed. Since next my periods own been regular to the exact year. After many years of irregularities and finally person regular for so long and corresponding to when my damaged tube be removed, I wonder if the two conditions could be related. My doctor didn't have much information and can not find to abundant sites with an answer on this. No nearby is no relation to the period and the Ectopic pregnancy the tube have been removed forcing your body to ovulate on the one side adjectives the time but there could own been a hold-up in the other tube that next had the Ectopic pregnancy atleast thats what my doctor told me
